People message me about partner codes all the time. Same question every partner code avatrade time: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
Nope. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code won't affect it.
What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. Simple as that.
What's the bonus amount?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
Deposit $2,000 for $400 bonus.
$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.
Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. Not many traders reach that level.
UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Top tier reaches £11,200.
Minimum to open an account is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.
Where to enter the code
When you're signing up. Below the phone field, you'll see small text reading "Have a Partner Code?". Click the arrow. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Complete your registration. Message your account manager before you deposit. Tell them you want 128979 applied. Standard practice for them.
You can't withdraw the bonus straight away
You need to trade a certain volume.
About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
Your deposit is yours. Access it whenever you need. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
Worth mentioning: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
